The first and only LGBTQ film festival in Taiwan – The Taiwan International Queer Film Festival (TIQFF) is returning for its 3rd year and includes for the first time the Queermosa Awards – an LGBT awards ceremony with the mission “to celebrate diversity and accelerate acceptance”.

On the same day that Spirit Day helped LGBTQ youth bask in everything that they represent, the Big Apple's NewFest, an annual six-day showcase of 102 LGBTQ films, kicked off on Thursday (October 20) with a variety of choices for cinema-goers, including the opening-night feature, The Pass, an adaptation of 2014 British play, starring Russell Tovey, of HBO's "Looking," and Arinzé Kene.
