Direct comms with a factory expert is an enabler.  The benefits to CRM, CIP and quality are enormous.  Instant escalation means effecting critical fixes in minimum time without expending unnecessary time nor resources...  Product support teams can be more mobile, multi-task more efficiently, and support global service engineers with the efficacy needed to effect positive change for both the customer and supplier.   

 

On the commercial side, implementing this could significantly aide in securing service contracts.  The time necessary to fix a problem can be reduced to the point that significant revenue is realized by the customer, and when the customer is happy, well.....
